In her role as Board President for the 12 Habits 4 All of Us non-profit organization Carol York brings her diverse leadership experience a wide array of business management disciplines: business management consulting, systems design, industrial engineering, performance management, business process engineering, statistical process control, total quality management, increasing working capital, change management, and grants management and administration, to champion the way forward for a talented and dedicated team.

Elaine Stevens-Parke, MBA

Executive Director


"Because I, like you, care deeply about all of us, our planet, and our children's future, I founded and am building momentum for "12 Habits 4 All of Us."

​

It's time we all treated each other better more often. My wolf friend in this photo, Logan, knows better than we do, that to survive, you have to co-exist with nature, and get along together in your family and in your own pack.

Carrie Lynn Leonard

Dr. Leonard is a wife, mother, and retired educator. She is an avid gardener, poultry farmer, artist, theologist, and scholar.

 

Carrie Lynn has 23 years education experience with at-risk populations. Her scholarship expertise is focused on strategic organizational communication.

 

Her interest in and work with 12 Habits All of Us stems from historical work in the areas of Character Education, Conflict Mediation, and her friendships within the 12 Habits Family.

Bonnie McPhillips

Volunteer


Bonnie McPhillips is a multi-talented jewel. She has a lifetime of experience in creative arts, specializing in calligraphy. Her professional career began with two years at The Naval Ordnance Laboratory in White Oak, MD. After many years out of the workplace to focus on parenting, Bonnie’s career included six years as head of research for The Reunion Company and a professional position with Westat (one of the top ten Statistical Analysis and Survey Research companies in the United States) from which Bonnie retired in September 2015 after seventeen and a half years of distinguished service.

 

Bonnie is happy to be a volunteer assisting 12 Habits 4 All of Us. She has missed doing the type of work she has been asked to do for the organization and is grateful to be working with everyone; especially since she believes in what they are trying to accomplish.

Robert H. King

Board Member


With a Masters in Management Science from Frostburg University, Mr. King's career and range of expertise brings management depth and oversight to the operations of our non-profit. He worked in corporate management for Kelly-Springfield Tire Company until 1983. He owned and managed, The Continental, a large motel/restaurant in Cumberland, MD for many years. After the birth of a son with downs- syndrome, Mr. King entered the field of Special Education, serving as Executive Director of the Hampshire County Special Services Center. Mr. King has guest lectured at institutions such as MIT, Brooklyn polytechnic, Johns Hopkins, Bowdoin College and conducted special training events for IBM, Maryland State Math Symposium and Columbia University.

Larry Ashenfelter

Board Member


Larry Ashenfelter joined the Board of Directors in September 2017. Both Larry and his wife Cindy have been professionals in the medical and firefighting fields since the age of 18.

 

He is a retired Fire Chief from the LaVale Maryland Fire Department. He served on the Rescue Squad as a Cardiac Rescue Tech (now referred to as EMT) for many years. After that, Larry ran dialysis department at Cumberland Hospital. Larry’s wife Cindy (who was also a medic), is still employed in a hospital in Frederick, Maryland.
